About Emirate Sun™

There are seven emirates in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which is a federation of sovereign states in the Arabian Peninsula. Each emirate has its own ruler, government, and laws, but they share a common foreign and defense policy. The Emirate Sun™ shines its light with aggregated news to the seven emirates on the topics of Automotive, Business, Entertainment, Health, Lifestyle, Sports and Technology. Emirate Sun™, through Arab Newswire, helps with press release distribution to the Emirates.

Here are the seven emirates:

• Abu Dhabi:
This is the capital and the largest emirate of the UAE, covering about 87% of the country’s total area. It is also the richest emirate, thanks to its vast oil and gas reserves. Abu Dhabi is home to many cultural and architectural landmarks, such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the Emirates Palace. Abu Dhabi is ruled by the Al Nahyan family.

• Dubai:
This is the most populous and the most cosmopolitan emirate of the UAE, with a diverse and multicultural society. Dubai is known for its skyscrapers, shopping malls, luxury hotels, and artificial islands. Dubai is also a global hub for trade, tourism, finance, and innovation. Dubai is ruled by the Al Maktoum family.

• Sharjah:
This is the third-largest and the third-most populous emirate of the UAE, bordering both Dubai and Ajman. Sharjah is considered the cultural capital of the UAE, as it hosts many museums, art galleries, festivals, and heritage sites. Sharjah is also an important industrial and educational center in the region. Sharjah is ruled by the Al Qasimi family.

• Ajman:
This is the smallest emirate of the UAE, covering only 259 square kilometers. Ajman is located along the Persian Gulf coast, adjacent to Sharjah. Ajman is mainly known for its fishing industry, its sandy beaches, and its historical fort. Ajman is ruled by the Al Nuaimi family.

• Ras Al Khaimah:
This is the northernmost emirate of the UAE, bordering Oman and sharing a mountainous border with Fujairah. Ras Al Khaimah has a diverse landscape, ranging from sandy deserts to green oases to rocky mountains. Ras Al Khaimah is also rich in archaeological and historical sites, such as Dhayah Fort and Jazirat Al Hamra. Ras Al Khaimah is ruled by the Al Qasimi family.

• Fujairah:
This is the only emirate of the UAE that lies entirely on the Gulf of Oman coast, separated from the rest of the country by the Hajar Mountains. Fujairah is known for its scenic views, its natural resources, and its maritime activities. Fujairah has several attractions, such as Al Bidyah Mosque, Fujairah Fort, and Snoopy Island. Fujairah is ruled by the Al Sharqi family.

• Umm Al Quwain:
This is the second-smallest and the least populous emirate of the UAE, located between Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah. Umm Al Quwain has a serene and tranquil environment, with mangroves, lagoons, islands, and wildlife. Umm Al Quwain also offers various recreational activities, such as sailing, fishing, camping, and skydiving. Umm Al Quwain is ruled by the Al Mualla family.
