A 13-year-old Emirati boy was pronounced dead upon arrival at Saqr Government Hospital in Ras Al Khaimah on Tuesday after drowning at Flamingo Beach, an area located behind the Saudi Institute. He had pulled his 7-year-old sister to safety before succumbing to the water himself, according to Gulf News.
Three children survived the incident — the younger sister and two cousins, aged 8 and 9 — and were treated at Saqr Hospital before being discharged the following day in stable condition.
